Michael is a self-taught painter who was born in 1955. He was raised on the Whitebear first nation in Southeast Saskatchewan. In his work, he captures the feelings of serenity and sentimentality in the horse-drawn era. Many of his images include the essence with which the first nationals people understand the dual relationship of the spiritual and physical realm. he states, “My technique is what people call the ‘overlapping’ style: I paint over and over the same area to build up the mood.” His paintings are featured at Art Concepts as well he can be found in corporate, gallery and private collections around North America.
